Description:

This triptych with movable panels, certainly reserved for devotion of a private nature, has recently been attributed to the Master of the Polyptych of St. Charles due to its stylistic proximity to other works by the author.

This is an artist who was active before the mid-15th century and who also spread his language in the Marche region in line with the stylistic features typical of the Florentine workshops of that period.

The iconography of the Madonna and Child is sided by the two Saints, protectors of the plague, and surmounted in the cornice by an Annunciation and a Crucifixion, sacred episodes set against each other for the predestination of Christ's fate and his sacrifice.
